Do the bose speakers sound good?

I haven't had a chance to blast the speakers when I went on the couple test drives of an 03/04.
Do the speakers sound good? (Plan on adding two 10" woofers in the back aswell)
Would you recommend aftermarket speakers instead?

Reason I ask is because in my current car the speakers are very crummy and its hard to even hear the music because my subs are louder. I can turn down the subs but then it doesn't hit as good. I like it when it hits and it is loud like any other person.
Thoughts?

i think the oem bose sound pretty good...i would rate them a 8 out of 10 for oem speakers and it would be a 9 but the tweeters seem to be sensitive but overall i would reccomend just buying a quality aftermarket speaker if you are into audio

If you are into sound, which it sounds like you are, I would get rid of the Bose Head Unit and get an aftermarket one. THEN you can decide if you want to upgrade your speakers. Swapping Head Units made a HUGE difference in the sound.

The bose speakers? They're passable. The thing holding back the bose system back the most is the weak amp that has heavy equalization built in to compensate for its lack of power.
