SAT mode is missing on Radio
SAT mode is missing on Radio
Hello People - been a while since I've posted anything - but I've been watching every now and then. Life has kept me busy - Want to check with the community, and see if anybody has any experience with this:
I'm using my wife's old car 2005 G35x as my daily drive. This car has the keyless feature that sometimes I forget to turn the car off. I did this once before - got a jump and all was good - this time battery went dead, got the jump, but I lost SAT1 and SAT2 on my radio - it goes AM - FM1 FM2 CD - no SAT. I'm a Sirius/XM subscriber, and it should be there..
I'm assuming that the battery dying reset everything electrical - Is there a reset code or sequence of moves that will reset this radio? The stealership says I need to bring it in - which I'll never do.. Any suggestions, knowledge on this would be welcome..
Thanks Appreciate Any Assistance.

Do you know the radio ID? You can go online at siriusxm.com, find the "refresh" page, and enter the radio ID and it will send a signal to reconnect. I think that will do it for you....
I've done that - I don't think it's a Sirius issue - the SAT1 and SAT2 are not showing up - I'm not seeing anything related to Satellite. AM - FM - FM1 - AM. Use to be AM - FM - FM1 - SAT1 - SAT2 The Dealer said that shouldn't happen - bring it in...no way..got to be a reset of some sort..somewhere.

It is in trunk under passenger side parcel shelf. Remove seatback and top trunk finisher panels. The pop fasteners are easy to remove with two flathead screwdrivers. The flush ones are a bitch if you don't have the proper tool which name escapes me right now. I used side-cutting wire cutter to work under both edges and then pried up with even pressure on both sides of plastic flange. You have to keep at it. They don't get easier as they come out until they completely release. You'll see why when you get the first one out.
If it was a dealer installed accessory, it's possible it's mounted to the back of the seat.
You are looking for the big rectangular white plug.

Might be, but if that's what caused the problem in the first place, it might be better to go with just unplugging the sat adapter to narrow down the variables in the testing procedure.
Removing trim fasteners really isn't hard at all.

If you do the battery disconnect procedure, you'll also have to reprogram your radio presets and reinitialize your power windows and the sunroof (if you have one).
PS: The tool is the "clip remover." You will encounter five C103 clips [the specific one is the first (left) one in the center column] -- two in the seat back flanking the access door, and three across the top of the assembly that are hard to get at among all the seat belt housings, speakers, amplifier, and whatnot. That's where the clip remover is most helpful. There will also be about 10 of the center C205 clips spread around. They are very easy.

One more thing: start with removal of the top trunk liner. If your sat unit is mounted to the underside of the package deck, you won't need to remove the tough C103 clips. If it was dealer-installed and is mounted to the back of the seat frame, then...sorry about that....
Thanks Guys for all your valuable info - after searching for the harness for about 30 mins with my mechanic, we went with just unplugging the batery for about 30 mins, and BAM. It showed up. Reset my clock and preset radio stations, and we're good. Thanks again I'm all good now. I'm sure the stealer had this info - it just blows my mind how they would have charged me $500 for doing this minor issue.. G35driver Rocks..
