Replacing the Bose with a used one

Just have a couple of questions. My Bose headunit finally took a dump and i was going to swap with a working used one. The headunits I find come with the a/c controller and everything. My question is do I need to buy one that will fit with the navigation unit? Or can the non navigation ones be modified?

The trim around the radio is different to fit the buttons or lid of the top storage compartment, but there's no difference in the actual headunit between navigation and non-navigation units.
