Good deal?...and refinish question

I have a good friend that's selling his G so I got some goods from him and I think I did well but want to know your thoughts. For $1,100 I got:

Brand new in the box 12W7
JL Slash 1000/1
Pioneer AVH6800-DVD DD
JDM DD Kit
Back up camera (pioneer add on)
iPod hook up (pioneer add on)
Bass ****
Navigation (pioneer add on)
Sirrus radio receiver
Neon lights
iSimple

The JDM kit has some dings and some browning on the bottom. Can this be touched up at all?

Good ($600+): Brand new in the box 12W7
Good: JL Slash 1000/1 ($700+ new)

So right there, you've realistically gotten your $1100 worth.

Pioneer AVH6800-DVD DD - Was good when it was new 7 years ago, horribly outdated now ($0 I wouldn't bother installing).
JDM DD Kit - Worth maybe $200 in current condition.
Back up camera (pioneer add on) - Depending on model, worthless used or still fairly good if it's the one with the active display.
iPod hook up (pioneer add on) - Does this even work with any of the newer models?
Bass **** - most modern radios have a dedicated sub channel that can do the work of this without making any modifications to mount it.
Navigation (pioneer add on) - Terrible compared to free navigation on any smartphone.
Sirrus radio receiver - Good if it works with newer radios
Neon lights -
iSimple - Probably to compensate for the old radio, not needed with anything new.

So overall not bad if you want that much subwoofer and get the right box for it. The radio's too out of date to work well with any modern smartphone the way most people want to these days unless you pick up the bluetooth adapter, but still improvement over stock.

The aluminum on these are pretty thin, so trying to refinish it is really difficult. Be careful using anything abrasive to try and clean it, or you'll screw up the brushed aluminum finish. The scratches on the lower end can probably be sanded out, but they're probably next to invisible when viewed from above, so I wouldn't risk it.

With the bluetooth, it's a radio worth keeping then, since the bluetooth adapter lets it do streaming audio from any new phone. Good thing too, since that bluetooth adapter isn't available from anywhere anymore.

Yup

Now install that w7 IB(behind the seat) & you'll be golden.

No need for a box.

I'm having a custom set up done within the week. I can't wait to have this in here. My Jeep had 2 13W7's so I'm used to slamming sound. This 10" I have in there now (DB K7) is just not doing it.

I may be getting rid of that **** on the bottom because I think I'll have to trim this a bit, his didn't have factory navi in it, mine does.

I've got a how-to on trimming the non-navi trim. Did a half-dozen of them myself.

Thanks for the link. I just looked at my trim piece and I noticed that it's already flush with the black trim, so I'm assuming this won't need to be cut?

It's the top that gets cut so that it will fit under the factory navigation trim controls.

Yea that's what I mean. The top sits flush with the black part you cut yours too. So I'm assuming it won't need to be cut any more.

The top of the JDM DDin trim doesn't sit against the black part at the top, it sits against the navigation buttons. If it isn't trimmed it doesn't fit. You can put the navigation DD trim in a non-nav car and have a slightly bigger gap under the console compartment lid, so if he had the nav trim all along, you really lucked out.
