Great news for 2003,2004 G owners with the defective Bose unit
I and many of you had the battery drain issue and the AC heat control issue with the Bose unit. We all know the pain we had to go through. I just came across a thread in the infinitihelp forum. There is guy in CA who can repair the Bose unit so it will not drain the battery, so we can put the Bose back into the dash again. Below is the link for the repair

I replaced my Bose unit along with the AC/heat control because they are one unit with an after market unit, plus a radio. These just don't look right and cheapens the car. To replace the unit at the dealer will cost close to 1K
I started this as a needed service for those who had the battery drain issue with the Bose. If you don't have a better solution for the Bose/battery issue, then you are not helping anyone here.

I had the battery drain issue a few years ago and my solution was to install a relay that would only supply power to the radio circuit if the Car was on. This worked great for a year or two and only cost me a couple bucks. The only downside is that your radio presets get deleted every time you switch off the car and every time you turn it on the checks all of the CD slots to see where the CDs are. Then eventually the driver speaker start to cut out due to the ribbon cable issue. Then I just spent the money on JVC navigation with JDM DD. In hindsight I should've just replaced it in first place and enjoyed a new stereo for a few more years.

The Bose system quite simply sucks, I've heard a number of OEM sound systems that sound leaps and bounds better, which is just sad.
As for the "just don't look right and cheapens the car" part of your statement, perhaps you're talking about the Metra kit, which is not at all what Mike was saying.
People in the G community have known for quite some time that the stock Bose could be repaired, go ahead and search the forum. Problem is, broken or not, the Bose is a turd, so why spend money fixing something that wasn't great in the first place?

Obviously you don't know the Bose unit drained the battery issue. No, the guy repairs the Bose unit. I sent mine to him.
