Purchasing an Amp/Amp Kit

So I'm very close to purchasing everything I need to do a DD install and I was shopping around for some 4 channel amps and have decided on the Alpine MRV-F300 and was wondering on your opinions on it? I have 4 new speakers for my front/rear that I've been meaning to put in so this would be powering those. I have no plans to put a sub (sorry guys)

My second question is about the amp kit. I'm taking this to an audio installer to do and they're trying to sell me their amp kit for over a $100.. but was wondering would something like the EFX 8-gauge Amplifier Wiring Kit from crutchfield (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142PA8/...iring-Kit.html) and additional 4 channel RCA cable work as well? Thanks in advance for all the help!

8 gauge BARELY cuts it for that current draw at the length you're going to use (I used 17 feet in my install). I wouldn't run anything less than 4 gauge if you're going to the trunk, and just in case you decide to increase the amp size or add a second amp, 0/1 gauge is what you'll need. It's not that much more expensive for the wire, and the amount of work is identical, but it's going to be a lot nicer on your charging system and makes it pretty much future-proof.

Hmmm, the Alpine MRV-F300 is only $135! I don't want to be too much of a brand fan boy but I do love Alpine

Which car model are you installing this?
Did you already?

I am installing that Alpine amplifier on my 07-08 G35S Sedan and will put Focal IS 165 in the front doors.

I will appreciate any feedback on that amp and which set of speakers did you use?
