Full Digital Gauge readout display

Hey Guys,

so I really want to have some type of active monitoring system for my G35. However I do not want several gauges in the car. So I found this!

http://www.edgeproducts.com/product.php?pk=145&pvk=405

Opinons are more than welcome, My question is, one of the main things i want to monitor is oil pressure, when plugged into the OBDII will oil pressure show through this device? does the factory ECU have an active Oil pressure monitoring??

Thanks guys

You do know u can download the app to your smartphone, etc.
And just buy a wifi obd2 scanner, way cheaper than what your looking for.

Hope other can chime on on a good WIFI OBD2 scanner and app to go along.

There are tons and tons of OBDII displays on the market, really they all do the same thing. Cleanest is to just do a double din stereo and use a ODBII reader as AUX input.

It's not wifi, wireless bluetooth.

And it was discussed just the other day in this thread - about $30 for the app and bluetooth adapter:

Sounds like a small taste what you can do with the inexpensive ($5) Torque App for android with an inexpensive (about $25) bluetooth ODB2 adapter.

I've heard of the apps, but I want so etching that runs by itself, I'd rather not link the phone to it. I like the idea of a double din, but what radio system has these features?? Also, if I hook this up, will the OBD II provide oil pressure reading?

You can get a cheap android tablet to dedicate to it for like $70 all day long. You could put the torque app on the parrot asteroid smart, or pick up one of the cheap Chinese android headunits.

oil pressure readings won't come through the OBDII on our cars...we just have an idiot light. borrow an OBDII scanner from your local autozone/napa/o'reilly's and test it out.

ok right on. I just want to monitor for possible oil consumption, because I'm unsure about if the car is consuming oil yet or not.

I like the idea for a android tablet with the app. What kind of mounting solutions have people had for this???

That looks cool, but the apps do a great job for much cheaper.

Never having owned cars without gauges I eventually added a volt and oil pressure gauges to SLICK. It's amazing what oil pressure we get until our cars are totally warmed up, 100 psi at low rpms between gears. That's after she's set at idle in the garage for 5 to 10 minutes. As long as I can see oil pressure, volts and radiator fluid temp from the factory gauge I'm satisfied...Gary

Oil pressure is important to me for sure. Maybe I will run an oil pressure gauge and use the Tourqe app along side it

Thumbs up Sounds interesting

Gary C, why not take pics of what you've installed in slick. So we can have an accurate idea of what your talking about. By the way, I just purchased a ElM. 327 wifi adapter for the engine link app I have on my iPhone. I'll be trying it out later today.
