This is a PITA particularly since I ref. hockey so have to squeeze my stuff in the back seat. According to the dealer its a common problem where the wire harness is folded in the trunk. They typically replace a section of wire @ a cost of $279.

Going to do this myself - which wire is the culprit? Any suggestions?

You may have already checked this, but make sure that they valet switch is not engaged. The switch is located in the glove box and if it is engaged it will disable the trunk release.

 

Yeah the dealership tried this first. No dice. Wondering if there is a separate fuse on this circuit?
