anyone added the OEM Nav screen (not the whole system)?

I don't want navigation, OEM or otherwise, but I would like a screen to play movies on. I do like the slick OEM integration of the stock pop-up NAV and I was wondering if anyone had tried to add in just the pop-up brackets and the screen itself on a coupe w/o NAV?

I saw one other post on adding the entire system and it was quoted that it was around $5000 in parts, which is obviously insane... anyone have any pricing info on what just the screen and dash parts would cost?

Thanks,
Jeff

You should just get an aftermarket system and throw in the double din kit..

I actually already own a decent Pioneer flip-out DVD system, but what I like about the factory screen setup is its height on the dash. The more i'm looking "down" the more dangerous it is to have a screen in the car, IMO. I would still likely do the double din conversion, but i wouldn't have a flip-out HU because of where it puts the screen.

I guess another option would be to get the factory pop-up bracket setup and mount an aftermarket screen in it... I just like things to look as OEM as possible...

is there anyway to use the STOCK nav screen and change the DVD reader? I have the OEM navigation system with the pop-up thing. I want to keep the screen but change the DVD system to be able to play vids and stuff.

Hi,

I am selling the entire G35 OEM NAV console; it comes with the retractable screen, BOSE 6 disc CD changer, and DVD NAV unit. I can send pics to anyone that is interested in buying.

Please let me know. My e-mail address is vluong117@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Vince

Are there any pictures of the black setup yet? and I have an '05, what's the status with this setup working on an '05?

thanks,
Jeff

It won't work with 05's since they changed so much of the interior. I'm not sure yet if I'll be doing a new version of it. If I do though it will either come out between May and August or not at all.

It doesn't look like the silver of the screen housing matches the silver of the dash. I have a silver dash and I'm thinking of going with black (usually goes with everything). Anyone have pics of a black housing and silver dash?
