DVD ROM removal?

I've removed my OEM nav screen to put in place a HDMI screen, but I'm looking to remove the factory DVD ROm drive to place my PC components there, has anyone had any luck removing it?

That sounds cool! Post pics of your screen! What model/brand screen did you go with?

Wasn't able to use the touch portion of the screen, and the screen isn't perfectly centered, but no one ever notices.

Props for installing that. Looks like it could be complicated.

This is what I wanna do, but wanna incorporate the whole stereo into a touchscreen thats installed in place of the stock nav screen and the CD/DVD/comp/hard drive in place of the DVD reader. Not sure how to go about it tho..I need to learn carputer stuff...

Not much reason to do all that these days. CDs/DVDs are obsolete. Just get a tablet that supports external storage and mount it. Bluetooth stream the audio to a separate stereo or hard-wire the audio output to an amp.
