climate control problems after metra

The owner before me put the metra installation kit in car with aftermarket sony . Sometimes a/c controls still mess up and flash and blast and you cant do anything about it. Until it stops, I thought once you remove the stock unit those problems go away? no?

Well, metra is an aftermarket company, so the "quirks" (I'm sure) can be anything. Not sure how much you love the car or how long you plan on keeping it, but replacing the Metra kit with a JDM is always an option. Luckily for you JDM kits are in ready supply right now. That's not always the case, so jump on it while you can.

CZP has them I'm pretty sure. Saw them responding to a WTB post a few days ago.

My solution...

I had the same problem. It took me almost 8 months to do something about it. Anyway, so after dealing with those pesky non-responding buttons, the controls sunk in on the right side. Over the weekend, I took the dash apart so I could put it back and checked the controls out. As anyone will tell you aftermarket rarely fits as OEM.
I noticed that the back cover of the controls does not actually press the entire circuit board, it only does so at the ends. So I took it apart, cleaned the back of the buttons and the circuit board, put some spacers between the board and the cover. I'm happy to say that so far, it's worked just fine. Although now I have to disassemble th dash again, as I forgot to connect the microphone for the Bluetooth. Hope this helps. I'm new to the forum, so I have to figure out how to upload the pictures I took. Let me know if it worked for you.
