Hey guys I need some help with my G35. My car has recently been broken into and the radio taken out.
1)I'm in the process of replacing my stereo and came across an issue. The thief not only cut the wiring harness but also the wiring FROM the car the stereo. How would I go about that?
2) I wanted to take this opportunity to replace my radio and middle dash with a complete setup that includes the Navigation system sold with a G35 such as the one in the picture. Anyone know if this is possible to do on a car that did not come with Navigation? Helpful comments appreciated.
This is what I want to install on g35. Mine does not come with the Navigation originally.
That sucks you got broken into. You are much better off getting a double din with navigation built in or just connect your smartphone to the screen for nav.
if u can source a used plug id go that route and solder the old wires to it rather than directly to the radio harness
For the radio, you don't need used plugs, you can get the reverse wiring harness - http://amzn.to/1FBtCcE
Now, doing that, you'll have to solder that to the cut wires, then plug them into the standard harness/adapter (70-7550 or ROEM-NIS2) which would be soldered to the radio's harness. Unless you're putting a factory radio back in, you'll save yourself half the soldering and about $20 to just solder the new radio's harness to the cut wiring.
I hope they didn't cut the climate control and other wires as well, those would be a bit worse to replace, since you don't have the extended wires from the radio's harness like the radio will have.
