G35 Power Seat Stuck in Recline Position?
I have a 2005 g35 6MT. Just yesterday I was adjusting my seat and found that the seat will no longer recline forward, only back. I tried cleaning out the switch with rubbing alcohol, and still nothing. The seat moves forward fine but there isnt even a clicking noise when i try to recline it forward. I also tried wacking the reclining motor in the seat back with a hammer, and still the same results. I have a wrecked 2005 g35 that i can replace the seat out of into my new car, but i was wondering which part i really need to replace or if i should just say screw it and replace the whole seat. Again, I hear no clicking or anything when reclining forward, but back works fine. Is this a problem with the motor or the switch if i dont hear a clicking? Also, is there a way to manually recline the seat forward? Because I dont necessarily have to fix it when i am the only who drives, i just need it in a comfortable position.

Good idea with the isopropanol. That is usually my go-to also. Too bad it didn't work. If you have another seat and know how to do it I would just swap the seat out since it takes maybe 25 minutes.
I have my two seats out at the moment if you want some pictures for reference to maybe look into replacing the switch unit or to remove it for cleaning/testing. Let me know.

I had this same issue in the 06 sedan i just got.
What i did was unzip both sides of back of the seat and in the lower left section of the back there is a wire connection, disconnect that and try to move seat in working direction to confirm you have the right wires (really the only ones easily visible)
Once you have confirmed simply use two wire jumpers and reverse the connections of the connectors then the switch will move seat in opposite direction so the working part of the switch will bring it back forward.
After you get it in the desired position I suggest leaving the wires disconnected.
It is indeed a faulty switch.

I have an 06 and it was just the seat switch that went bad. Got a replacement switch from someone doing a part out, since Infiniti won't sell just the switch, and has been fine ever since. That cleaning thing with q-tips didn't work for me.
If you can apply voltage directly to the seat motor, and it moves, then the switch is bad.

Hey I know this thread is old but does could anyone explain how exactly to reverse the connections with jumper cables behind the seat? I’m having the same problem where my passenger seat will recline backwards but not forwards. I have unzipped the back of the seat and can see the wiring you guys have mentioned but I don’t know how to reverse the connections with jumper cables to get the seat back to a normal position? Are we talking about splicing into the wires to reverse the connections with jumper cables or is it easier than that? Thanks

If its not showing voltage when the recline switch is pressed, then it is a faulty switch. Then he can use a jumper on those same wires to get the motor to move.

Those wires behind the seat go to the recline motor. Apply + to one and - to the other and the motor will turn. Flip the + and - wires and the motor will turn in the other direction.
