Using a PC to update and program the ASWC-1 is a no go

Supposedly you can update the firmware (if needed) and program the Metra ASWC-1 (actually Axxess Interfaces) with a Windows PC. Yeah right.

Yes, I updated mine recently.

What is the issue youre having?

Windows 10 PC either doesn't recognize the device or doesn't have drivers for it. Had to install the Visual C++ 2010 redistributable just to get the Axxess updater to launch without error. Which is no where in their documentation or website. It flashes red/green real fast for a few seconds and slows down, but the Axxess update can't recognize the device.
What version of Windows are you running?

Neh'mind. Has to be a proper micro USB "data" cable. The one I grabbed was a charging cable only.

Yeah that might be your problem. But I used an old computer with Windows Vista on there.

Anyway...keep us posted.

It was definitely the cable. After all of that, the firmware was already on the latest version.
