Question 2003 G35 Rear Driver Side Speaker Plays Static Even When Radio Is Off

Hi,

Please understand I’m just now learning about cars, and I know less than the majority of people on here.

So when I turn the car on static immediately starts playing. When I adjust the fade it gets a little quieter. Sometimes after driving for a while the static will fade or fix itself, but if I turn the car off and back on it resets and goes back to playing static. I have read a couple posts on here and people suggested it could be “a grounding problem between the rear door driver side speaker and the amp”, “problem could be isolated to the rear door driver side speaker, so pull the door panel and unplug the speaker and leave it”, or a “grounding loop”. I don’t want to buy a new amp. I’m a college student and not rich...yet. Can someone please help me and give me cost averages? I’m going to take my baby to the Infiniti shop soon so if it gets fixed there and my mechanic tells me what was wrong I’ll post on here, because the old posts were from 2014 and 2007.

here is a short video of my car

Hmmm. That's more of a distortion than a static, IMO. Try a couple adjustments first. Pressing that "audio" button allows you to make adjustments in this order: Bass - Treble - Fader - Balance. It will cycle through those settings and after a few seconds just go back to normal operation. So press it once to adjust "Bass" and use the "tune" buttons (^ and v) to adjust that to "0" (no boost or cut). Press 'Audio" again and do the same for "Treble", adjust to "0". Again for "Fader" and adjust that until it's between "F" and "R". And once more to adjust "Balance" to be in the center between "L" & "R". Let us know if that makes the sound any clearer and if it starts coming out of the other speakers.

Get a quote from a local reputable stereo shop. It's probably not as expensive as you think to have a stereo shop check that out.

If you want to try to fix it yourself though it's obviously going to save some money.

I'm moving this thread to the audio/visual section so the appropriate people can chime in.

@Wrathernaut any thoughts?
