First full install - replacing Bose amp and system in 07 G35 coupe
Hi I'm about to replace the Bose audio setup in my 07 G35 coupe. I've done head unit installs but never installed an amp. I'm going with a setup along these lines:
New HU > aftermarket 4-channel amp then splicing into the existing speaker wires to hook up the front door components and the rear deck 6X9s
Can I get a sanity check on my item list so far?
Head Unit - (probably a Sony XAV-AX5000)
Steering wheel control adaptor
AM/FM antenna adaptor
Speakers - thinking of Focal ISU 165 up front and ICU 690 in the back
4 - channel amp - not sure which brand for this? Should I stick with Focal for the amp too??
I know I need to run a new power feed from the battery to the trunk for the amp and also RCAs from the HU to the amp.
From the amp I'll splice into the factory speaker wires for the new speakers.
Any thoughts or concerns or component feedback? Am I missing anything obvious?
Any input is welcomed before I start ordering
Thanks
Thanks. No subwoofer, just going with the 4 channel atm. I do have a the inline fuse on the power line. Just have to figure out the best way to get that cable into the cabin and how to route it back to the trunk
I have mine poked through the rubber boot where all the other electrical wires come through. Under the hood, on the passenger side. I just poked a hole in it and pushed it through. Just make sure to add some extra sealant around the hole to waterproof it good.
Another question: since I'm using RCAs from the HU to the amp, I presume I don't need to connect the individual speaker out wires from the HU to the factory harness adaptor?
