Can I connect an ipod to the sat radio input

Supposidly the Bose unit is "XM/Sirrus" ready. Does that mean there are analog inputs that could be hooked up to the analog out of an ipod somehow?

You need the PAC AAI-NIS adapter and you could easily do it.

If you use the PAC audio adapter, you can plug the ipod output into the adapter. The dock will provide the signal out and you will be able to charge the ipod from the base station.

Thanks for the help.. I have a couple questions that I havn't found in the forums yet (i've been reading a lot and searching though, so i have tried)

1.) How hard is it to put in the PAC unit? Is this a shop job for someone who has only changed out speakers in a car before, and never done any dash work?

2.) Is it physically possible to mount the IPOD with a Belkin charger/doc/amp unit in the AUX storage where the NAV would normally go and have that wiring go down behind the radio (including power) so there are no cables hanging anywhere in front of the dash? If that were the case I could build some sort of mount so it could be stablized in an upright poisition if it fit and the wiring would work. The idea is I could then close the AUX storage lid and it would all be out of sight.

Thanks for the help guys.. also if anyone knows of a place in L.A. that can hook up the PAC unit and the power to to the belkin adaptor that woudl be great since I have a feeling the actual install will be out of my capabilities.

I have NAV in my car so I can't answer the question about the space available in the cubby for an IPOD.
But, I can tell you a little about the PAC install. It is involved. You must remove the passenger glove box and cigarette lighter panel, the driver lower and cigarette lighter panel, the console around the gear shift, the bezel around the clock and the radio.
There are a couple of very detailed "do it yourself" instructions on the forum for the procedure however.
I have zero stereo install experience. But, I can follow directions pretty well. I was able to do the install in about 3 hours. The hardest part is pulling the radio console out enough to get to the back for the plug swap. (Getting the clock bezel off is kind of hard too. That sucker is on there. You really have to use some muscle to get it off of there.) Everything else is pretty straight forward. If you do tackle it yourself, get some painter's masking tape and place it everywhere on your shift console and radio console. That silver paint scratches EASY and you need to have it protected.
Good luck.

If you have an '05, installing the PAC is a little easier. You no longer have to remove the glove box which was a big step in the process before.

yes it is an '05 is there any thread or web page that has a step-by-step? I'm very mechanically competant, just not experienced with this car.

Here is a link to a "do it yourself" guide someone did for the replacement of the stock radio. He did a fantastic job. Very useful and easy to follow.

http://www.g-owners.com/article_read.asp?id=33

Since you don't have to remove your glove box, you are 15 minutes ahead of the game. You also should not have to completely remove your radio. I was able to just tilt mine out enough to unplug the the stock harnesses and pigtail in the PAC unit ones.
(That is one thing that was kind of tricky. PAC gives you no diagram of which harnesses you must detach. It's a trial and error thing with mating them. Sure the new plugs will only match up to one set of pins, but you can't tell which until you unplug them. They all look about the same when plugged in.)
You can do it.
