Problem with DW Screen..HELP!!
The ribbon cable is attached via a brown clip to the circuit board. As long as the brown clip is still on the circuit board, all you should have to do is release the clip following the instructions I posted above and then reinsert the display cable and secure the clip. Unfortunatly, this is real easy to do prior to the screen being put in the car, but becomes almost impossible to do while its installed and you risk breaking or losing the brown clip if when you try. You will probably have to remove the whole center console and screen assembly to get access adequate access to the circuit board.
Thanks All....At least now I have something to backup my claims whan I go back to the shop. Just so everyone knows I in no way blame DW for my problems with this. Its all because the installers failed to follow the install instructions that were provided to them. The brown clip is no longer attatched to the circuit board so I think that means that Im screwed.
Unfortunatly I don't have any extra clips and the only way I can get them from xenarc is by buying a whole new circuit board. Xenarc themselves may have some clips from RMA'd boards though that they might be able to give you so I do recommend you call their support line directly at http://www.xenarc.com/cservice.html and tell them about your problem. They are aware of what I do with the digitalwheelz screen and are usually pretty good about support and might be able to give you another clip if they have some.
