What are you trying to do?

There really aren't any features that you can set or change. There is a diagnostic mode that you can get to by simultaneously pushing the D/N and Map buttons for 5 seconds right after starting the car. It doesn't really show much.

The NAV unit references speed via the speed sense wire. Its a catch 22 because the Navi unit HAS to have a speed reference to work right (its not true GPS navi because once the GPS locates you the car uses its own sensors to guide you through its maps). I doubt Nissan would provide a way to disable this safety feature. Its really not that bad, I don't know why you all get so crazy about it!

There is only once speed source going to the unit. The unit uses that speed source for everything from maitenence scheduling to actual NAV position to not allowing you to use the system while driving.

One theory I have that may work, and I have never tested this out, is to switch the signal on and off at a fairly high rate (2-3hz or something like that). Once you start driving the NAV doesn't immediately kick you out, it takes about a second or so before it grays everything. Hoever, I'm not sure if this is a time based delay or a speed based delay and I won't know this until I actually try it. But, unfortunately, since this feature doesn't bother me at all its not very high on my things to do list.
