I've had an email dialog going with him about this issue. Here's what I've learned...

He was considering stopping production all together because of the effort need to fabricate the housing and the screens. Now he has found a third party to do the fabrication and he can focus on the assembly and distribution. He is going to make another run for the 03-04s to see if the outsourcing of the fabrication actually makes it feasible to continue making the screens. If the production goes well, he will consider making the 05 version. What he really needs are all of the part numbers for the 05 dash so that he can order the parts in order to have a test environment for the 05 housing. I hunted all over the net and even looked at some service manual samples and I can't seem to find any schematics or parts listings for the 05. I really am VERY interested in the screen as well but I'm am not willing to pull my dash apart to get the part numbers...unless i was offered a very deep discount on the screen (but only if I knew it was actually going to go into production!) Maybe someone else would be willing to be the guinea pig...

Well I've been doing a bit of work to try and continue the screen housing product and decided to make a new version of the DigitalWheelz screen. I'll actually be doing a revised 03/04 model first as there appears to still be enough demand and this will allow me to change the design in small steps to minimize bugs with it. The major change will be the screen frame. Currently the screen just uses a standard picture frame that takes entirely too long to customize and assemble for the screen and is why the current model is discontined. The new version will have a frame machinend entirely from aluminum to perfectly fit the screen and g35 center console. I'm expecting a look similar to the xenarc 800yv screen http://www.xenarc.com/product/800yv.html Although it will still be based off the 700 series of monitors and not include the buttons as they wont fit.

There are also some other minor changes to make installation easier and create less support issues.

Assembly of the screen should be much easier with the new version and I may even offer an assemble yourself w/o screen product, but you probably won't save much money going this route unless you already own a xenarc screen.

I am now looking to do an 05 model too that will use the revised frame and different plexiglass housing. Since I don't have have an 05 g35 and I will need my own center console to work with for a month or two, I need to buy all the relevant center console parts for an 05.

I'll need every part that the screen housing will have to touch, but I think the only parts this includes is the cubby hole cover, the part of the console surrounding the cover, and the metal bracket that the holds the radio.

If anyone happens to have any of these parts around to sell, PM me. Otherwise, if anyone happens to know the part numbers for these parts and a good place to buy them please let me know.

Revised 03/04 model should hopefully be ready around late May. 05 tenatively around August.

I actually changed the frame to a thinner, sleeker aluminum frame (pics in the carputer thread posted recently) and changed the color to a better match for the "willow" interior since the brushed aluminum color wasn't an exact match for really any of the "titanium".
