My Weekend Project - Sub Boxes
Being a rainy weekend in NJ, I decided to tackle the task of making custom boxes for my Infinity Kappa Perfect VQ10s. I previously had a custom enclosure, but wanted more trunk space, so my father and I tackled the project of making custom boxes and placed them on either side of my trunk. I built them mainly out of MDF, with fiberglass as reinforcement. They sound SO nice, probably because of the condensed size of each box. Let me know what you think.

My stereo is getting installed Friday and Saturday.
My friend is an installer at a local stereo shop. He will be installing
-Mb Quart QSD for the front
-Kicker Solo-baric S10L7 (square sub)
-Custom fiberglass box for sub
-amp rack for 2 Phoenix Gold amps
I may do the rear speakers with some cheaper Mb Quarts depending on how hard it is to get to them. It looks kinda difficult. I told him if it is not going to be that hard that I will buy some and he can put them in!
Can't wait. I have been waiting for 8 months now!
I will post pics of the finished product.

No, unfortunately i dont. I didn't have my camera around when we started. But what it basically involved is cardboard cutouts of all the pieces first...transferred them to MDF....(a table saw comes in handy)....finish nails...fiberglassed the joints just for reinforcement purposes...sanded and carpeted
Easier said than done...i know
thanks for the compliments guys

The subs are ever so slightly forward. Regardless, they hit harder and crisper now then with the previous box I had them in, in which both of them faced the back of the car. I've heard that reasoning, about firing into one another and the sound canceling, but from this personal experience, either that slight 5 degree angle each is the reason, or that is all just a bunch of bull.
