Does anyone know what Disk ERR FO means on the stereo unit? I cannot access any of my CD's, has anyone experienced this problem? I just purchased/picked the car up and this happened as I was pulling in my driveway on the 3 hour drive home and this is not a good experience for the 1st night I have owned the vehicle. Also, my CD's skipped a few times and I ejected them and noticed they felt very hot!

 

2go - I experience same problem last weekend - pissed me off big time! It began on Friday, turned on radio and got DISK ERR FO, I started knocking on CD display window (not too hard) then pressed CD eject and load buttons I just went off on it because I figured if it's broken and I get a new unit at least I gave it a try (getting my CD's out that is). Left it alone on Sat. then on Sunday while taking the G out on a nice little drive I hit a pothole and a CD popped out WHILE THE RADIO WAS TURNED OFF no less! (I couldn't believe it). I then proceeded to turn on radio and the CD player worked! I read on the freshalloy.com website that a few G owners (as well as a few Q45 owners) were experiencing this problem and some were waiting up to 3-4 weeks for a new unit and a couple weeks after that they would receive their CD's in the mail (apparently the unit has to be sent somewhere for CD's to be removed) , but, yeah, unless you get lucky like me you're going to need a new unit from your dealers service dept. My problem now is I don't know if my CD player is "fixed" or if I just knocked some sense into it for a while, which might mean another CD DISK ERR message in the future, I hope not!?!? CD ERR F0 after a 2.5 hr trip. The player was extremely hot. Got it replaced (it was 2 weeks old). I am on a second player. It produce scratchy noise when you play while the player is hot, usually after a 2 hr trip. So I stopped inserting more than 1 disc to the player. There is no point replacing the unit until they have a fix. My advice is don't use the changer. Always use 1 disc.

 

I too have had a problem with my CD player. Bought a demo with 2900 miles. Problem seems to happen for me after car sits in hot sun while I'm at work. The CD may start playing for a few seconds, but eventually it stops playing all together. Coincidentally, CDs that have little to no "break" in between songs seem to cause bigger problems (Linkin' Park's Reanimation, Family Values 2001 are two examples).

Service dept. couldn't duplicate so they ordered me a new unit. Told me it was backordered, but it was in in 7 days. Getting it installed next Saturday along with oil change.

I also want to get XM - anyone have this installed yet?

Thanks for the information, I went out to my car this morning and beat the living **** out of my cd player and, sure enough, it spit out a cd. I immediately ejected all the cd's. It seems to be working fine now but I am going to get it replaced since the order is already on the way. Good luck with yours.

 

Well, got my new CD player installed today. So far so good - no skipping or non-playing.

The mechanic did screw up the trim between the dash and center console when replacing, so I have to take it back Monday...... jackass.....

 

I just got my new cd player also after 3 weeks of a wait. no problems so far with new unit.
Just waiting for a fix for the door rattles, dimmed clock and A/C noise...

 

on the issue of door rattling:

i know theres door rattles that can be taken care of with ITB-02-021, but in my car, the rattling comes from the door handles

i tried to get my dealership to check out the rattles in the door handle in my car, but they said this was normal because of bass. it doesnt happen with all songs, but when it does, its slightly bothersome

does anyone else have this problem?

 

I definitely get it with the bass -- in fact, sometimes it's so much, I think my cell phone is ringing (vibrating) in my left pocket. Insert vibrating cell phone joke here.....
