Sound Deadening the G.
sorry if i confused anyone................the 60 hours if for "printing" the plastic enclosure, the 3d printer its really cool.....i can draw any 3d shape i want too on my computer and then "print" it......just like a document but in 3d........so i designed a speaker box and instead of fiberglass i am using plastic........this allows me to print different shapes and try them before i decide on what i want......
yes the midbass did improve (not enough yet tho!)......but i only have 1 speaker enclosed right now, the other enclosure will be done printing tonight and ill install it this weekend......i am expecting more improvement.............i will also take more pics of the enclosure before i install it for you to see.....

Not much..........since I did not cover the car in dynamat (brown bread in my case...1/2 the cost) as others have done.........the spray foam, carpet underlayment and attic insulation are all very light......and i ordered a 35 sq. ft roll of brown bread (12.25 lbs total) but only used about 1/2-3/4 of the roll (6-9 lbs.).....so if i had to guess.......around 20 lbs (equivalent to about 2.5 gallons of gas)......definitely worth the sound improvment
shooter nice job, did you install those component speakers yourself, the shop i took it to get em done totally messed up my car and im very upset, sigh, wasted money and the job was so horrible, was wondering if you can show me how you mount or made that seal around the 6.5 mids in the door panels, it looks completely sealed, mine has gaps all around! sigh, they didnt take the time to do it nicely, they just screwed it in using some washers as the spacer, geez... and would love to hear how the diff in sound quality is with all that insulation and foam... i plan on getting my car dynamatted to improve my SQ in my car also... mind if i get a listen in your car this week at the meet?
it looks as though you did nothing on the floor. My complaint (after doing all dynamat xtreme on all vertical surfaces) is that I still hear a good a mount of tire noise. I gather it's coming from the wheel wells - the rear of course is covered (while I was doing the rear verticals). So I think a majortity of the noise is coming from the front wheel wells. Any work there on your part? I am afraid to pull back the carpeting because it'll never fit right again!
Nice work on your ride though!

peet........i did not work on the floor or the front wheel wells.......after i pulled the back seat, i checked the exposed floor under the back seat and the rear wheel wells and felt the factory dynamat was sufficient....i just knock on the panels and did not hear any excess vibration.....but i did add a second layer of carpet underlament under the back seat and a layer behind all the rear, trunk and door panels....this definitely added a nice light sound barrier from road noise. there is always room for improvment (removing the head liner and adding dynamat on the roof, and yes adding some dynamat in the front wheel wells might be worth it!), but it is pretty quiet already and im happy at the moment........let us know if you work on the front and post your comments!
Brown bread is just as good as dynamat. With dynamat you are paying mainly for the name, not necessarily the "superior quality."
"Accumat" is also another great option, as is "Raamat." They are both cheaper options that are excellent performers.
Take a good look at Raamat though. It is priced VERY reasonably priced considering how effective it is.
One last option is the "eDead" by elemental designs. I have not personally used it, but I have heard good things about it.

Check out the B-Quiet website below........Brown Bread (replaced with B-Quiet Ultimate) has a lower acoustic loss factor at 70 deg and below than dynamat at 1/2 the cost and a lower weight.....works for me
