New audio setup planned - does this make sense? (Diamond Audio advice needed)
Hey Fellas - need some advice.
I will soon be taking apart my 2004.5 5AT coupe to Dynamat in preparation for some Diamond Audio S600a components going in to replace the front speakers.
I want to do the audio upgrade slowly - so the only change at the moment will be the front speakers. However, since I will have all the panels off to Dynamat, I thought I would run new speaker wire.
Here are the questions:
1. Can I use the "rear acoustic fill" feature of the Diamond Audio crossovers to connect the stock rear Bose speakers. I would set it to -10dB but I am worried about the low impedance of the Bose (Diamond speakers are 4 ohms). Should I add an additional 1 ohm resistor in series just to be safe?
This would allow the HU's rear fader control to manage just the rear deck 6 x 9s and my rear speaker output would be fixed.
I plan on keeping the crossovers in the trunk. (They are HUGE).
2. Is there any advantage in moving the front Bose speaker to the back? (i.e. is it better quality?)
3. Is there any trick getting the wire into the coupe doors - searched but could not find any good tutorials (there was one, but all the pics are gone)?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Well I sent an e-mail to Diamond Audio a few days back - no reply
No one here has used the RAF feature of their Diamond Audio crossovers with the stock Bose rear speakers?
