Bose Speaker Replacement

Just read a post on Fresh Alloy where a guy had added aftermarket speakers to the Bose amp and states that it made a great improvement. I was led to believe by all the other posts that this could not be done....that the bose amp also had to be replaced. Anyone else heard of this or had any ideas. Thanks guys.

Re: Bose Speaker Replacement

I have only changed the front speakers to a Kenwood's component power by the factory amp... as well as a Bazooka 2x8" Tube power by a kenwood amp... it is a great improvement already...

However, now I am not satisfied with the setup anymore... may be I just grew out of the setup... I am in the middle of scoping out a new setup which will contain the following...

Front: Soundstream Exact 6.3 Front Component
4 Channel Amp: Soundstream PIC 4.880
Rear Side Panel: Either go to use my kenwood's for now or I will put the kicker RMB6 midbass drivers

I am still decide on the sub and mono amp... I might leave the Bazooka in for now and see how it is... but I am considering either a Kicker L5 or L7 or JL 10W7....

In addition, I might put the Pioneer DSP Equalizer and Crossover to further enhance the listening experience...

Still waiting for my installer to go through the Nav to TV/DVD instructions... Hopefully he will be able to do it...

Re: Bose Speaker Replacement

Did you install the front speakers yourself or have it done. If you did it, how hard was it to do, such as removing door panels and the tweeter grills, etc.

Re: Bose Speaker Replacement

I have an installer installing the speakers...

If you install the speakers yourself, you will need to splice up the speaker wires and rewire it to the new speakers...
