Yes there is a tool to do those holes. Forgot the name. It's my freinds tool.

Came out sweet though

Naw it's more like a drill guide that clamps on at an angle.
Then you run a drill bit through it at the desired depth.

Those are called "Pocket Holes" and you use a special guide and drill bit to make them. Rockler has a good selection; I've heard that the KREG are nice.
