Finally- Amp and Sub installed: Pics
I finally got My amp and subs installed! I wanted to do something like the 4080 box, but I didn't want to buy new equipment. I have a Rockford Fosgate Punch 4 ch amp and a Rockford Fosgate 12" Phase 2 sub that came out of my WRX. I still an using the OEM Bose system, the plus is that the amp comes w/ a sub controller so I have total control of Sub by a ****. I fine tuned it today and it sounds perfect for my liking. The only draw back is no spare tire, but that's why we have Roadside Assistance!!!

i wanted to get this done some time this weekend what exactly is needed to hook your amp to the stock head unit. did you just use some sort of adapter.. would you know how much it cost? does it take a while to do?

Thanks, a friend of mine that does custom installs did the whole thing. It is actually 3 custom cut pieces, the center housing the amp and sub box, the side pieces keep it clean and snug. Makes it easier to take out if I need to. Yes he used some type of adapter, but I am not sure what kind.I actually use the thin mat right over this ( not the heavy G 35 Accessory carpet ) this way I still can use my trunk to store things, and when I open my trunk it looks like I dont have anything!!! I will find out later today, and post up later!!

Nice, clean install. I assume you measured out the space that's available in that spare tire area for a sub woofer box? If you have that measurement on hand that would be great, shoot me a PM. I had a 2002 Trailblazer that I did a huge stereo install in before my G. I had a Shocker Mouse 15" that needed a 5 cu ft. ported box (GIGANTIC). I also faced my sub upwards. But i found that it hindered me putting anything over it my trunk so during the travel of the sub the surrounds wouldn't be damaged. How has your (and our already small trunks) trunk faired with that limitation?
