Factory NAV, is it worth it?

Any links on how to mod the player? I've seen the input swithchers from av - but that's $500, makes sound go through a modulator (I have sat radio), and still requires an outboard player.

I'm not a modder, but I've been reading this Forum to learn. I'd suggest that you read the stickied first tthread in this Forum.... it answers this very often question that you have and includes product options, prices, detailed instructions, photos, etc.

Hi salt... I too read every thread related to this, but the glimmer of hope that a mod to the unit could allow the functionality -- too much to pass up.
On my previous car, mercedes c class, there was a great mod to the head unit... cut one trace, solder two wires and you had an auxiliary input in a radio that didn't have one before. I was hoping someone had found something similar here.

Get the Stock Nav..you wont be dissapointed--Overall an exceptional system!
Positive Notes:
*Calculates/Estimates arrival times and gives multiple options for routes
*Door to Door and Accurate!
*When your gas gets low it will prompt you and then provide directions to the closest gas station <<<----Thats COOL!
*You can set icons to identify restauarants Atms etc...
*Av electronics makes a very nice unit for DVD conversion thats tight!
*THE GPS IS VERY ACCURATE--within 100 feet turn advisory is accuarte!
Only 2 drawbacks I can think of
*At start up you will always have to press an "I agree" button and because its in the software
*Niether you or a passenger can scroll beyond the top 5 addresses in your address book. (atleast on 04) I would love to see a wieght sensor in passenger seat to turn this safety feature off) You can run a switch interface so you can allow a passenger to program while you drive!
BOTTOM LINE---WORTH EVERY PENNY!
