Should i ditch the rear speakers?

I have the blose premium system. I will keep the head unit and run the PAC aoem-nis2. I am considering the JL 500/5 with a JL sub and mb quart or focal to replace the stock speakers. Should i ditch the rear speakers all together and use the 500/5 to power the fronts or do something else. I want to keep the project reasonable in cost and a DIY. Also Should i pull new speaker wire while i am at it. THe factory wiring looks real restrictive.

Thanks,

j

I use a JL Audio 500/5 with Quart Q's in front and Quart DTC 169 triaxials in the rear and usually run the fader at two clicks towards the rear so I can hear a little sound from the back. The JL 10W6 in 4080's box hits too hard right now due to lack of controls.

As soon as Grubbs gets the AC control in, I'll put a Pioneer Premier 960 HU in so I can have some control over everything instead of just bass and treble.

It sounds VERY good now and should be awesome with the EQ controls in the Premier 960.

TaiPan, you could purcahse the RBC from JL Audio to control the bass level.

jonathang35, rear fill is a matter of personal preference. Rear fill is not necessary to create concert like performance in yuor G.

Yes ditch the rears, you don't need them.

ok, definitely abandoning the rears. I want to go with Focal speakers in the front stock locations. I dont think i need the high end speakers. Which series should i go with. Also, any recommendations on an amp? Finally, I am starting to research the whole dynamat thing. This stuff seems pretty expensive. I would like to cut down noise without adding much weight. Do you recommend dynamat or someting else.

Thanks,

j

I plan to ditch the rear speakers in favor of 5.25 and 6.5 components in the front. (5.25 in custom kick panels and 6.5 in custom door panels)

what you can do is just get a two channel amp to power the front components and run the rears from the deck
