my friend just bought a AVX2494 with the 20 gig hard drive and I bought a AVN5435 because I wanted navigation but my question is he says his does navigation he bought his used and it came with the same gps antenna and also it has a navi button on it he hasn't hooked it up yet so I don't know and also his didn't come with the north america cd but is that because it's already on the hard drive. so does his have navigation?? and his is definitely the AVX 2494 and not the brand new unit that I know does everything now.

 

no AVN means audio video navigation... AVX means audio video x(??)

if his is the asian version, yeah it comes with navi...
no, the american version of AVX2494 doesnt have navi at all, not even hard drive (HDD)...

if it truly comes with the navi, then it must be the asian version of the AVX!

 

ok thanks he must have the Asian version then because it does have the hard drive and memory stick slot so do you think he will be able to hook up his navigation he doesn't have the disk do you think my disk would work in his?

 

hard drive and memory are for the 20 gig hard drive for ripping songs... i remember soneone on the thread had the asian version, it has a white cover i believe, and they had to rig it to receive FM, and work for North America navi... im not sure if its plug and play, u might have to hack into it, but its worth a try!
