Less bass with SVC on?

I have a sub spliced into the rear signal before the bose amp. I usually keep the SVC on mid so it raises the volume a little while driving but without it being that noticeable. It seems like there's less bass from my sub when driving with it on. Anyone else notice this?

Doesn't seem to make sense
Only thing SVC is supposed to do is change volume based on speed

yeah, i know. Maybe the stock subs and other sub start to cancel each other out, or maybe i'm just imagining things. At any rate, i think i'm gonna try removing the stock subs so there's space for air to travel through and see if there's a difference.
