Poly-Fil in Box

Poly-Fil in Box
Hey fellow G audiophile I read on Crutchfield about this stuff called Poly-Fill for use in a sub box. It's basically just polyester filling like the kind found in pilows. It claims the sound wave coming off the back of your subwoofer reacts with the air contained in the box. Poly-Fil stuffing slows down sound waves inside the box, making the subwoofer perform as if the box were bigger. I have a box that is just a little bit smaller that the recommended size.
Has anyone done this or at least know if it works? Also do you line the inside of the box all neat-like or do you just stuff it in the box
Thanks again as always
