New system to replace Bose

have an Infiniti G35 sedan with the Bose system. About 3 months ago I installed a Kenwood KVT-911 tuner/tv/dvd along with the Kenwood Navigation system and Sirius Satellite tuner. Up to now I have bben running them through an FM modulator through the Bose system. I have decided to use the Kenwood exclucively and do away with the Bose speakers and amp. This is what I am thinking of using:
JL 500/5 amp
JL XR650CSI components in front doors (6.5inch)
JL VR650 CXL in reardoors for fill

Any suggestions to what type of sub I should get? The Bose sub is a 6.5 with built-in amp which I will definetely get rid of. I would like to be able to mount a good sub in the same location as the Bose. (under the rear shelf)

Any comments/ideas or criticisms would be greatly appreciated.

MIKE

Comment: Are you going to take out the stock Bose radio completely or add your Kenwood to the pocket? I can't imagine wanting two systems on top of eachother. If you're chucking the bose completely, will you be cutting into the dash to add a full size DIN radio? Sounds like some custom work to me. Good luck.

Re: New system to replace Bose

The Kenwood is already mounted in the pocket. They did an excellent job of installing it. They even retained the original cubby hole cover. With the screen retracted and the door closed, it looks completely stock. I am just gong to use the Kenwood and leave the Bose in place. Would be impossible to remove the Bose head unit without damagging the heat/ac controls as they are mounted on the same circuit board with the Bose. I have so much invested in the Kenwwod/Navi/Sirius, I feel I should use it to it'sfull potential...not just running it with an FM modulator through the Bose as I am doing now.

Have tried several times but cannot get pics to post up.. Go to the technical forum and do a search for "custom install" I posted them there right after it was installed. Look for a posting date of 3/22/03. I have 5 pics posted

Re: New system to replace Bose

The dvd goes in the cd slot....
Paid $1759 for the Kenwood 911 and 1750 for the Kenwood Nav (KNA-dv2100) the Sirius was free and $49 for the satellite antenna
Installation was $700 because they had to modify the main heat/ac duct......but everything works fine

Had it done @Freeman's Car stereo in Charlotte, NC
