sirius sat help

I want to install sirius on my 2004 6mt coupe.
I want to know if a non oem sat receiver can connect to the cars sat controls. My plan was to put a sat recever up front (maybe in the dash location where the nav unit goes) I wanted to be able to remove the receiver and take it with my when i travel in a company vehicle for work.
thx for any help

Timing's kind of ironic . . .

I just got off the phone with an audio installer here in the Bay Area, who told me that non OEM satellite tuners cannot be plugged into the harness (which sucks!).

Can't be done plug and play through the factory harness. Its technically possible if you can get an installer to make a custom harness for you, but I doubt most places would even want to try given the "pioneering" nature of that type of install. If you really want to take it with you; you're stuck using the radio or tape adapter. You could get a basic line-in by refering to the 100 other posts on that. It could be a good compromise.

Okay...guess I might have the same question. I had sirius in my old car and still have the receiver, antenna and head unit. I want to install it in my G, but that would mean I would have to buy everything over again...is there an adapter out there for the G..that would cut my cost down significantly.

No adapter is out there; you can install the non-oem as you would any aftermarket audio source and give up steering wheel controls, or you get the sat kit for the g35.... I'm not sure how much those non-oem kits are worth; you could ebay it.
