Wiring in AVIC-N2 into sat harness

I was thinking about getting the Pioneer AVIC-N2 and the associated Sirius unit installed in my coupe. When I bought the car, I did not get the nav or the satellite radio. I am not interested in doing a double-DIN conversion, unless I have to, because I like being able to put in multiple CDs from the inside the car (my understanding is that I would have to buy a separate unit for multi-CD capability). Which leaves the cubby (setting aside air duct issues).

I was told that I would not be able to wire in an AVIC directly into the wiring harness to take advantage of the unassigned SAT button. I was wondering, however, if it was feasible to connect a PAC switch to the harness, and then use the RCA output on the AVIC to connect the unit to the PAC switch. If it's possible, how does the sound compare to installing the AVIC usinga double-DIN conversion kit? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don't you want XM rather than Sirius to take advantage of NavTraffic on the N2? Or do you prefer Howard Stern??

I'm already a Sirius subscriber, so I wanted to keep with that.
