Digital Wheelz Install Question

Been searching the forums for an answer, maybe my search function is broken but here goes. Im in the final stretch of the install and I cant get the cubbyhole cover to open wide enough for screen to fully extend. I get the feeling I need to cut something but after countless readings of the install instructions I dont see what to cut. I have triple checked the spacer nuts...help me!

Check and see if you have the cubby's door on correctly. It is spring loaded and can be put on one turn off and then the door will not open all the way. Spin the square mount ***** by hand till you can get it open all the way. You may have to try it a couple of times by removing then re-attaching the door. There is nothing to cut..............

G35bob is probably right. Its probably the orientation of the *****. When reinserting the cover, the 4 sides of the ***** should be aligned flush with the rest of the cover and the cover should be reinserted in the closed position. There is a picture in the install manual illustrating this.

Man this thing is kickin my ***, upon further inspection it seems the white plastic cover behind the A/C control is keeping the housing from sitting flush against the faceplate. Gonna try takin it off and reassembling the unit to the metal mounting bracket. I will try taking some pictures with my cell phone if I still have the problem. Not sure of the quality of the pics, but its all I have since my girlfriend took my digi cam on vacation

I asked him about this a month or so ago. He was waiting on prototype parts. He said that once he got them, even if things went together ok it would still be at least three months before he would sell a final product.

I hope things are going well, maybe he could give us an update. I have my PC built. Now all I need is some sort of case, and the touchscreen LCD/housing.

As you may have seen, he has been busy working on the frontend that will be out soon (it looks to be VERY sweet!!!)

No problem, me too! I know a lot of other people are begging for a 2005 compatible housing. I know that it's easier said then done but if he never comes out with a housing I have no clue what I will do. I am trying to make things look as clean and stock as possible. Anyway, let's hope we hear of an update soon!

The touchscreen is USB based. There are mac drivers.

Back to the reason for this post, If you have not figured it out yet I will put in my two cents. The white cover on the head unit does need to be removed or it wont sit flush. I am suprised you got it to work at all with the white cover on. I really hope it doesnt mess with the climate control functions. There are a few holes in DigitalWheelz instructions but hey you have to adapt. Expect complete instructions with pictures for disassembly and install of screen and computer within the next week. God of cpu is a good guy don't get me wrong but he needs help so take pics when you install and share them.
