Nice HU, nice front stage.

I am not feeling the tweeter pods. I cover my DLS tweeters in grille cloth.

Rear fill?

GRider, I have not had a problem with the face yet, there are no rubbing issues at all.

im in oc also, come to one of our meets!
I've tried, but I never seem to have the time, family obligations, you know how that is. I actually was able to make it to the little event that Sound Design in MV had not too long ago but I was only able to stay for a short while. I'll try to make it to the next one since I do want to check out some of the other rides and get some ideas.

also! dont open the face in park, im sure u know this, but make sure youre in neutral or drive...
Roger on that neutral/drive, even though the installer warned me about it the very first time I opened (the next day) I forgot to do it I guess we learn from our mistakes!

enjoy it!
It has been a blast so far, right now I am playing around with different EQ settings to decide which one I like best. I've been also trying to get to know Sirius.

also, is yur speed wire hooked up? i see the 17 miles to destination, but not the minutes to destination? does it say "check speed pulse"??
Yeah, we had a little problem with that, I even lost voice navigation for a few days. Took it back to the shop, they contacted Eclipse, and they determined that the speed pulse signal needed to be amplified since the sensor was not reading it correctly. Everything is working correctly now.

What part of OC are you at?
check yur pm...

Thanks dude, I really like the DLS. Would you mind putting up a pic of your tweeters with the speaker cloth. Did you spread the cloth over the plastic piece that protects the tweeter dome? Where did you place your tweeters?

As to rear fill, I meant the speakers in the rear doors. I got some DLS 226 coaxials for that location.

Yes I can but there is a lag of about 1/2 second between pushing the button and system response. A PAC adapter was used but I can't tell you exactly the model number because it is an Eclipse prototype one.

Thank You That might be liveable with. I would hate it if those controls became unused. I would want to do something with the steering wheel then. I am looking on going with a simular setup. If you were going to sell the car. Would you be able to put the stock deck back in?

Yes, just make sure you save everything that you take out. You'll have to remove the GPS antenna that comes with the Eclipse and usually gets placed on the dash but other than that I don't think it would be a problem.

I actually meant "rear fill" as in "why would you have rear fill? It's a commie plot against America!" - now "what did you use to perpetuate this ongoing myth?" : )

Since my current car is NOT a G35, pics of mine probably wouldn't help you. In this case, I guess I'm not lighting a candle, I'm cursing the darkness - but those tweeter pods cosmetically just aren't up to the level of the rest of the car. I'd probably have to end up making them with grille cloth inserts and having them look like the Mach system pods in the Mustang used to look - but hey, it's a big tweeter.

I personally have recommended to one customer against using the Iridium or UR6s in a G35 for that exact reason - the tweeter is hard to cosmetically integrate because of the size of the rear tuned chamber. I tend to use the DLS UP6 - it's our most popular speaker, and while the tweeter doesn't have the tuned chamber, it's got about the same mechanical resonance and thus frequency response - I suspect it's just lower in power handling than the big dog tweeter. For systems without huge amounts of power I think the SQ is darn close.

Also i just want to thanks for your help, so i need to know before i plunge to get myself the eclipse. Also should i wait till next year for the new eclipse? I have an ipod and I want to hook that up and i read somewhere here that they are aobut to release a new one with ipod interface built to the head unit. Any suggestions??
