Diamond Audio AMp D7054 question. please help

I have a Diamond Audio AMplifier D7054, It's rated at 50 w x4 @ 4 ohm. My question is: Will 50 watts each channel is enough to juiced some Diamond Audio Hex components S600s or maybe JL audio Xr650-csi components for from of my G?????

I really appeciate the response from G35driver members

Here's my opinion: I don't believe that 50watts is enough. I have spoken with the tech several times at Diamond Audio, and he says those speakers need 100+ RMS to really "scream". Now, on the other hand, it might not be too bad for the D651's, or M651's. That is what I had before I switched to the HEX's. They are wonderful sounding speakers. As for the JL's, I have them in the rears, plus have listened to them side by side with the likes of MB Quart and Focal, and I REALLY think JL should stick to building amps and subs. They DO NOT sound very natural at all, and just don't do it for me. But that's my $.02. Check out CDT audio. They have some good priced speakers that sound very good, and are designed to handle around 50-70 watts. I just installed some Cl61's in my mother's 350z with 65watts RMS, and they sound FANTASTIC. I only paid $150 online for them too. Hope that helps.

thanks khsonic03

I was hoping the D7054 Diamond audio has enough power to take care of the cabin speakers (diamond hex that I wanted). and use my D7152 to push a sub. I think this is rated at 150 x 2 @ 4 ohms or 600 x 1 Briged @ 4 ohm. I guess I have to use something else.

Although they would like to see a bit more power, the 054 will do the job fine. Ive done it many times.

Also the Dam Diamond Audio D7 amps are so big and heavy,,,054 and 152 are almost 2 feet long and about 20 pounds each. I've been trying to figure how to mount both amps in the trunk, since I want to keep alot of the useful space. ANyone interest in my amps?????????????????????????? D7054 is used and D7152 is brand new with birth certificate and manual

Keep the amps! I have the D7402 and D7104. I had the D7104 100x4 rms biamping a set of Hex's and i think it was just right. They are big and heavy but i dont think you can get the kind of sound from any other amp.

You can fit them on the floor of the truck or one on the back seat and one on the floor by it. There is room to do it. I got both amps and 2 10" subs to fit in my single cab Ford Lightning.

Yeah man, those are great amps. I would keep them. Diamond makes great amps (and speakers). Do a false floor, or use one of the corners of the trunk to make an amp rack and mount them that way. They are big and heavy because they are quality!

Well, what is your budget? You might want to try to listen to some comps at Tweeter, or a local shop near you. You would be surprised to hear the difference between the way two different comp sets sound. Night and day with some. I listened to some MB Quart QSD's, Focal KP2's, and some Boston Pros off the same amp and HU, and was astounded at how the MB Quarts whooped up on the Bostons and Focals. To me, the Boston's sounded like crap. But that's just my opinion. You may be better off going to a shop to listen to some. It is hard to find a retailer who has some Diamonds on a board to listen to, however. Give it a shot though. For you, Infiniti Perfects might not be a bad choice, because they have a little more diversity in the wattage that can be fed to them. And I still always go back to the CDT's. They have such a natural sound. What kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to everything,,I pretty much wanting crystal clear clean sound,,it doen't have to be loud or anything..just pure clean acurate sound. I owns 2 amps now. My budget is 1300-1500 for the rest of my system. my initial plan is s600s hex in front,,, d36i 6.5 cixial for the rear (both diamond audios), audiocontrol LC6 line out converter, not too sure what sub and a box. I like to buy the 4080 box that everyone's talking about recently, although I don't really want to pay more for a box than a sub. and of couse I will do the installtion my self.
thanks in advance for the helps

Why not just bridge the amp too two channels and use that to power the front. You as the driver wont notice much of a difference without the rear speakers.

meatbag, I was just thinking of the samething. Maybe use either a JL Cleansweep or and AudioControl LC6 LOC after the Bose AMp. I am thinking just bridging the d7054 to make it 100x2 @ 4ohms to power the front, My D7152 bridge to get 600x1@ 4ohm to pwer the sub,,,,,Here's my question: Would I be able to let the rear speakers to be powered from the factory bose amp, and change the rear speakers to some Ifinity kappa 2 ohms coxials tht some of the member heres did with their fronts and rears.

thanks in advance for the response

Yes, you can do that, but I would still tap in before the Bose amp for the fronts. The Bose amp does a number on the signal.

You can do that, just tap the signal before the bose amp like khsonic03 said.
