I wanted to know what you all kept your x50 settings on? Also mention, where you drive, etc... I just bought mine, so i m experimenting...Also what does the "POP" mode mean? It came off, but i turned it on... should i keep it on or off?

 

I usually keep mine on "Highway" because thats what im usually driving on. POP is a type of Radar used. I keep it on and you'll have to turn on the KA radar as well. Instructions are in the manual.

 

I use Auto usually, unless im on an interstate highway, which then I use Highway setting.

I actually kept POP off. Its very rare, and cops aren't even allowed to use it as proof in a speeding ticket.

I have POP on, but I've never seen it come from a real cop and it gives me too many false alarms. I am going to turn it off; other than that I use the deault settings in "auto/voltage mode" It comes with ka on; alot of cops use ka. POP doesn't have any signal strength so its always really loud and annoying.

 

yea... just today morning when i left my house, i was driving through my residential area, and Ku or Ka (dont remember) popped up... and i was like w-t-f, thats never happened... so i went the speed limit... well as i was drivin the signal would fluxuate, med - high and sometimes low... when i pulled up to turn at my traffic light, i noticed the motorcycle that was a few cars in front of me was a cop... woot, saved me... i usu go 45 in the 35, esp bc no one is out on that road at 6 am, but that cop was that time... go x50!

also... what display mode do u guys use? standarad, expert, or spectre i think its called?

 

I enabled the quick start option so I don't have to see all that crap when I first start the car. I switched to expert mode so I can see if the detector is picking up more than one signal. I turned Pop off because it's not used in the State of NC. I think POP is only used in 3 states. Can't remember what they are. Ka always pops up when I drive in the Highways of Los Angeles. Go Highway patrol!
