I'm going to chage my HU soon and would like to get some input. I want the Double Din GPS Navigation where the map knows where I am, and of course dvd, mp3's etc. I'm looking into Kenwood, eclipse, or pioneer.Any info would help.THanks

 

I've got an AVIC-D1 in my car with the iPod adaptor and I love it. The navigation loads faster and calcuates routes faster than any factory unit I've seen. Very easy to use and it looks great. It dosen't play dvds but you can buy a small dvd player for it and use it like that. Hope this helps.

 

The biggest advantage of the Pioneer IMO is the XM Traffic update feature.

Sonically, the Eclipse is probably the best sounding.

 

i have the same question, I'm SERIOUSLY interested in doing the same set up as silvermtzion, BUT i NEED dvd playback and you can only watch dvds in wit hthe D1 while the car isnt in motion. can anyone recommend a really good eclipse or kenwood model

 

if you did a search there has been two recent post on both headunit hacks, both can play dvd while the car in motion.
