jl audio 300/4 and diamond audio s600s
Hey guys
I am in the process of updating my audio system. I have a diamond audio d7054 which give out 50watts x 4 . Ive ask some of the member in this forum and they all told me that The diamond audio hex s600s would be underpowered by the amp. I want to know if the JL audio 300/4 which is 75wattsx4 would be enough to juice the diamond hex. I really appreciate the input from g35 members

I have with me right now diamond audio d7054 and d7152, s600s hex comp for front, and d361i coxial for the rear. diamond audio d610d4 is the sub. I have everything with me waiting for installation. Because some of the member told me that the d7054 might not have enough power to run the diamond hex comp, so right now i am thinking of selling the d7054 and get jl 300/4 for the cabin componnents

Just so you know, I had m661's (last years D661s), and they sounded fantastic. I'm sure you will enjoy them. Diamond just redesigned the woofer this year as well. It is now 6.5" instead of 6" which is great, so I'm sure they will sound even better. The speakers now have a slightly different FS. The HEX's still use the old 6" sized woofer, but I am sure they will change over soon enough. I have noticed a slight difference with the HEX's, but I am sure you will be more than happy with the D661's. They both use the same tweets, but the x-overs are different as well.

Ok, for that config, if you can afford the 450, that's a good way to go, because you don't want or need to power your rear fill with a lot of juice.
The biggest thing to remember about the JL "slash" amps, which I happen to really like, is that as a stiffly-regulated amp, they give you the same output power regardless of normal voltages, but they have zero dynamic headroom (peak power is RMS power).
So your amp doesn't have a "peak" rating. It may outperform the box rating (like doing 83 instead of 75) but don't depend on it.
