Any recommeded Installers for AVIC-D1/N2 in bay area

Hello there,
I am still undecided between AVIC-D1 or N2. My understanding is N2 can be installed in the cubby and D1 can be installed where the stock radio sits using a DD kit. My personal preference would be to install the unit where the cubby is because its the right level for a Nav screen. So some questions I have are

1. Has anyone installed N2 is the cubby (some old posts talk about N1 in the cubby but most of the threads are dead)? Would it require lot of custom work? What kind of custom work? Would it require some cutting of air ducts?
2. Or D1 in DD is the better option. Experts who have already installed D1 in place of stock radio, can u please comment on the position of Nav screen being low. Does it really matter?

And the most important question is, can someone please recommend some installer in the Bay Area, CA who could do this installation. I don’t think I can do it on my own.

I own a shop in Portland, Oregon. RT has been around for years and is highly recommended by many customers.

try Audiomobile in oakland or soundinnovation in hayward have done one fiberglassing to the cubby to hold N1's that i know of, but that cost the guy 1200 just for the labor, I am sure you can find some shop that will do it whole lot cheap, but you do take a big chance, doing the D/D conversion is cheaper and clean look wise, but it is bit low tho. but you do get use to it.
also one shop in fermont called pacific stereo have done an fibergalss face plate on lexus to fit an new deck, but that shop have bad reputations.

How much did they charge for the install? Please send me an email at anand_22@yahoo.com

you can also try doing it yourself.. i did my own and helped out in 3 other installs.. it's not too difficult, just need about a day's work and you'll save yourself a lot of labor fees..
