Pioneer/ipod Interface
I Have A Pioneer Avic-n1 And I Desperately Want To Use My Ipod Through My Head Unit. Pioneer Finally Released The "cd-ib100" For Pioneer "adapter Capable" Headunits ,but The Rumors Say That The Ipod Interface And Search Capabilities Are Not That Great. But I Was Hoping Somebody Has Had Experience With The Combo. Also, In The Ads Of The Adapter, The Avic-n1 Hu Is Not Mentioned As A Compatible Hu, But They Also Say It Will Have "external Unit Capability" On Many Pioneer Hu's... The Avic-n1 Was Made Less Than A Year Ago, Does Anybody Think I Will Be Able To Use It ?...and Even If I Do Will It Be Worth The $100+ It Costs? Its Gotten Horrible Reviews- Any Truth To Them? Please Help!

I have the ipod interface connected to my D1 so I'll give you a quick run down.
The Ipod will show up as an "external" unit on the source selection screen. Left/right will advance the tracks, up/down will change the playlist. The title will only display about 8 characters and will only scroll if you go into the menu and select "external command" and send a command to the ipod, even then the title scrolls and then stops. You can't scroll through your playlist to find a song, so lets say your playlist is 100 songs long, and u want a song thats in the middle? You gotta tap right like 50 times to get it there. You still have access to repeat, shuffle through the external command function. If you have any specific questions let me know. Honestly, the interface sucks but I do like having access to my ipod through my headunit and just leaving the ipod in the glovebox, its not as ghetto as using a fm modulator/cassette adapter and using the ipod to control.

from the looks of it though, you need their optional Kenwood headunit to use it.
