I'd like to thank all the posters on this forum... I'm a dumbass when it comes to car audio and there is a lot of good information here... I will be upgrading my audio system soon with confidence it will serve my purposes well...


After researching the fourm and talking to folks at Elemental Designs (who are very patient and helpful) I decided to do the following with my 05 coupe with OEM stereo...

Ditch the rear 6.5" speakers...

Replace the front 6.5" speakers with eDi 6500s components...

4080 trunk box with Image Dynamics ID10 v.3 D4 subwoofer...

Elemental Designs NINe.4 amplifier pushing components and subwoofer...

All that for less than $1000 plus intallation...

Hopefully the amp will be up to the task... If not it would be easy to bridge it to the components and get a second amp for the sub...

I will have everything installed professionally... Any advice on how to find a reputable installer would be appreciated... If anybody knows of a good place in San Antonio, Texas that would be great as well... What would be a ballpark $$$ figure for the install?
