Listening to system with engine off

Does it drain heavily on the car battery, while listening to the stock bose system with the engine off?

Heavily? Not sure how to answer that. You will kill the battery evenually, that's for sure.

Can't get enough of that Bose sound?

From experience, it shuts off after 2 hours and 30+ minutes. At least, that was the case with my car. I was putting in a yellow top and decided to test/drain the OEM battery and it cut off after 2.5 hours. Granted I only drive city, and do not have a capacitor.

I heard a statistic once from an NC State aerospace engineer that turning on your car uses approx. 20 highway miles of gas. This, in theory, makes sense in general, though I do not know if the # 20 is accurate or not. So in other words, if you're shutting off your car to save on gas, it's not worth it unless you keep it off for, say, 20 minutes.
