HELP!!!!! AVIC N-1 users!!!!

I have had my AVIC N-1 in my car for a year now and I am starting to wonder if it has been broken all along or if it has been wired incorrectly from the start. I no longer live in the area that I purchased it (across the country now). My problem (I think) is when I hold the power button until (in its retracted state) it turns off. I'm not convinced that it is actually truely turning off. Is the blue lights supposed to turn off or do they stay on? My aftermarket amp is what made me start to think about this. You see, when I hold the power button until it appears to turn off, I check my aftermarket amp and it is still on. The amp even stays on when I detach the face. I have checked and double checked to make sure that the remote blue wire from my amp to my head unit are properly hooked up.

Is it possible that my headunit is not properly shutting off which is why the blue lights on it are still on and also why the amp is not shutting off? The only way that the amp will shut off is by removing my key from the ignition. If removing my key from the ignition turns my amp off that means that removing the key from the ignition also turns off my head unit.

If anyone knows anyone that has done the install of this unit PLEASE come forward and assist me in anyway you know how.

Maybe the ignition wire and acc (are these the same) are crossed. Any color matching of wires that you might be able to list would help tremendously.

Thanks

Avic-N1 never totally shuts off.

When you hold down source button all your turning off are the audio sources.

The Pioneer must stay on for the GPS system to work.

I also have wished that when you hold down source the amp would also turn off but i guess it needs to b on for when you get notifications about exits and turns.

I need to keep this post at the top so that hopefully more people will respond verifying what was stated in the second post. I need more AVIC-N1 people to respond. Thanks.
