Bose Stereo fix ?

Hi,

Some people were saying how the Bose stereo would need to have the bass and treble set each time they started the car. I found this to be the case in mine also. But I tried turning off SSV and the stereo seems to be holding my bass and treble settings. I no longer have to go into treble and - to 4 and then +5 .

So people with the treble/bass setting problem try turning off SSV and see if it helps. I have an '05 btw.

Doesn't SSV make the stereo louder? And I thought it meant 55V not SSV.

SSV is for when you go at higher speeds theres more road noise, so the radio compensates by raising the volume as you speed up, correct me if im wrong

I HOPE this is the case! I can live with out the SSV... its not that important. If it is... then I can just uprade the speakers and leave the stock headunit! I'll test it out tomorrow on my way to work.

06's aren't fixed, my Salesman told me he checked one out as soon as they came in.

SSV has nothing to do with it resetting. I tried it a few days ago. I noticed that if I turn off the car for about 10 seconds for the power to drain out of the HU, it resets... but if I turn of my motor and turn it back on with in that 10 secons, the presets stay. I'm guessing there is supposed to be a constant possitive feed to the HU, but its not feeding the preset to hold the settings once the car is off. If the problem is jsut that, cant we just find the right wires, and give a constant feed... like our clocks do?
