Bandpass Enclosure(opinions? ever use one in a G35?)

Is there any advantage to having one in a G over a regular enclosure?

it depends what kind of bass you're trying to acheive. sealed, ported and bandpass. everyone has a different preference. i like sealed enclosures... tighter cleaner sound. others like extended lower frequencies and the booming, can hear you from 2 block away sort of bass.

In my experience bandpass boxes can make a small speaker sound like a bigger speaker, and they can be loud to a point, but they're not very good sounding most of the time and they have limits in how loud they will play.

Since all the air they move has to fit out the port, they are usually limited by the area of the port.

And they have severe issues with time-related distortion.

Since there are woofers that fit in tiny boxes today relative to 10-15 yers ago, and since the wattage needed to power a small sealed box is cheaper than ever before, I just don't see the need to use anything but a small sealed box.

Cool deal, sounds like this in unnecessary then. So, since you are a fan of the smaller boxes, what do you suggest for dimensions that would fit in the back of the G35 almost up against the rear seats?
Let's assume a 12in woofer and leaving me enough space to still fit my golf clubs. Basically a rectangle pushed up against the backseat.

Any ideas?
