I looked around for quite a while before finding a box. Although 4080's box looks to be very nice, I didn't want to spend $300 on a box. I ended up buying this Subzone box:

It fits perfectly in the trunk of the G and is made very well.

No it doesn't. That's the good thing about it. It slides in under the top of the trunk and leaves you with a good amount of space.

10w7 is overrated. go w/10w6. half the price.can hardley tell the difference between those...and if you were to get 10w7. do fiberglass work..not just a box.

No need for any type of convertor if you are using a JL / amp. I have a JL 500/1 and got a pair of twisted pair patch cables. I cut them, nicked the proper wires from the head into the bose amp in the trunk. Soldered them to the factory harness, plugged them into the JL, adjusted gains and viola, off you go. Oh and taped off the soldered areas.

Another thing I found out from JL after calling them, at least in the case of the /500 amp. The line output is a differential signal, so if you have another amp to power your front components, you can use the JL to send it a converted signal. How clean is it? Not sure, once I proceed to that part of my upgrade I'll know. My gut feeling is it's pretty clean as it's designed so you can use the /500's internal x-over to limit the bottom end sent to the main components and was designed as a complete solution.
Just a FYI

Nice! glad to kno that i dont NEED the Pac or LOC. would it be cleaner with it tho? is it somthing that i should consider later down the line? Should i get an amp that has more channels rather than the 500/1 maybe like the 500/5? Also the guy at 6th ave also wanted me to take a look at thishttp://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_c...php?page_id=79 i was just wondering what everone thought about it? Although i would like a w7, how dose it really rank up next to the w6 in all catagories. the reason i wanted to stay away from the w6 is because one of my freinds had one it his jetta GLI and it wasnt that loud, pretty clean though, i was wonderin which one is cleaner w7 or w6, hits harder? btw id like to say thanx to everyone im learning alot!!

you are getting ripped off with the amp kit, line input, and rca cables. like big time.
if you shop around to wholesale warehouses or lower end audio places they sell wires by the foot, it's generally cheaper that way. i've got all my cables (rca's and all) for around 40 all together. line inputs go from 20-40 depending on the one you get.

but the install only $60 bucks?!?!?! holy cow that's cheap. everything else just seems avg price
