Single-din head units

I have an 06 G35x, and Im looking to install an aftermarket head unit. Can a single din head unit be installed, and, if so, does anyone have any pictures of this?

I searched and did not find an answer.

Thanks.

For a clean install you will still have to buy the DD kit....

You can put the single din HU and have a pocket below....

You need a double din head unit. Run a search on that. It's possible, but that price can be a little pricey.

I did a single din upgrade a few months ago to a 05 G35x.

Two issues. You need the JDM bracket, even though the 05 has a bracket. The holes on the JDM bracket are farther forward, so when you install the pocket everything is flush. If you use the stock bracket, there is a slight gap between the pocket and the trim.

The other issue I experienced was another slight gap between the bottom of the stereo (Kenwood) and the pocket. I ended up making a piece of plastic trim to hide the gap.

I've attached a picture with the final result.

Yes, you still need all the DDIN components (AC unit, Trim, etc).

The DUAL button is missing because I didn't bother with the soldering. The JDM AC unit has the functionality, but not the switch soldered to the circuit board.
